This website uses only storage that it needs to work. There are no optional cookies to accept, and nothing optional loads before you choose. The one exception is the film on the homepage, which comes from YouTube and loads only when you press play (see “Film from YouTube” below). You can review and save your preference at any time.

What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. Websites can also keep information in your browser’s local storage, which lasts until you clear it, or session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab. The law treats all of these in the same way.
Under UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations), a website may use storage that is strictly necessary for a service you ask for without consent. Any other storage needs your consent first.

Fonts, images and other videos are served from this website’s own server. We do not embed content from social networks, map services or advertising networks.

Film from YouTube
The film beside the statement on the homepage is hosted on YouTube, a Google service. Until you press play, the page shows a still image from this website’s own server, and nothing is requested from YouTube or Google.
When you press play, the film loads from YouTube’s privacy-enhanced service (youtube-nocookie.com). YouTube and Google then receive your IP address and technical details about your device and browser, and YouTube may store information in your browser. We checked what it stored on 28 September 2026, after pressing play in Google Chrome:

We saw no cookies in that check, but YouTube may set cookies or other storage in other browsers, with other settings, or if you are signed in to a Google account, and it can change what it stores.
